Friday Daydreamin’: Texas Spring Break

March 14, 2013 by Rebecca Darling

Spread the love
Happy Friday friends! Time for Friday Daydreamin’!
Join us each Friday by linking up your favorite travel post of the week and I will do my best to see them all over the weekend.  I hope you will take a few minutes and visit some of the link ups too.
I love this link-up party because I get to learn & see so much travel through the eyes of all my fellow travel bloggers.  I have learned so many amazing things and seen some gorgeous pictures thanks to y’all sharing your travels here.  I hope you continue to do so.

Spring Break started this week for us with a fun hike with friends as we got up very early to tackle this “mountain”….Enchanted Rock!

It’s an easy climb for families and tons of fun to do.  Despite the cooler temperatures, the sun peeked out and warmed us up fairly easily!

The kids especially loved crawling around in the caves.  The kids….not the adults so much…..

It was really fun to all go as a big group and share this experience with everyone.

Especially, this little guy.  Enchanted Rock is one of my kid’s favorites in Texas.  So it was fun to take the little man for his first climb. Though he was much more mesmerized by the little things, like this stream, then tackling the summit. He has plenty of time to fall in love with it like we do!

Where have you been this Spring Break?  Or planning to go?
Link up your favorite post of the week! I’d love to hear about your travels!

That “rock” that you guys are trying to push over looks just like a person’s profile. How fun!

Your post really makes me want to go hiking. My husband and I did take a walk around our property today with our poor cooped up Beagle. I have to tell you that I thought I would freeze before I got back to the house and it was fairly warm today at 38 degrees. 🙂

It’s nice to get away in big groups – the kids really form close bonds. Nice for the parents to get a bit of outdoor fun too!

Enchanted Rock is definitely on my list. What would you say is the ideal time to go? Later in Spring? Fall?

Whenever we visit Enchanted Rock, we joke that we have to crawl into every crevice we see. Spring Break seems like a good time to go and definitely better than a hot Texas summer day. I’m hoping you post some bluebonnet pictures soon. I’m missing them.

How fun, and I love how you got to go in a big group! Looks like you took over the place 😉 Enchanted Rock is on my list!

We had our “spring break” trip last week with a visit to the Phoenix area…and we got to experience something rare for Phoenix: Rain!

Crawling around in caves has never been my thing, but the rest of your hike looks right up my alley. Looks like you had a beautiful day for it.
